1. Our Commitment

Infinite Excellence (ie4) exists to help healthcare organisations run better, and that mandate does not stop at the walls of the organisations we serve. As a company building the systems hospitals rely on every day, we hold ourselves accountable for the environmental footprint of how we build, deploy, and run our own technology, and for the footprint our products help our clients reduce or add to their own operations.

This policy sets out what environmental sustainability means at ie4 in practice: a paperless-by-design product philosophy, the infrastructure and operational choices behind it, and the ongoing commitments that keep this a living discipline rather than a one-time statement.

2. Paperless by Design

Every EVOLVE module, Verifie, Privifie, Abilifie, ComHub, Praxis, and Lexidoc, is built on a single, deliberate premise: credentialing, privileging, competency management, committee governance, patient safety reporting, and document control belong in a digital system of record, not a filing cabinet.

  • No print feature, by design. EVOLVE does not include a print function for its core workflows. This is not an oversight or a cost-cutting shortcut, it is a deliberate product decision, made specifically so that every credentialing file, every committee packet, and every policy document lives and moves digitally from creation to archive, never as a physical printout that then has to be filed, copied, or shredded.
  • Digital signatures over wet ink. Committee approvals, policy sign-offs, and credentialing decisions are captured through audit-grade e-signatures rather than printed forms routed for a physical signature.
  • Digital-first client onboarding. Implementation and training materials are delivered as digital documentation and in-platform guidance rather than printed manuals, reducing paper use on the client side of every deployment as well as our own.

3. Why This Is a Sustainability Choice, Not Just a Product Choice

Healthcare has historically been one of the more paper-intensive sectors of any economy, credentialing files, committee minutes, policy binders, and patient safety reports have traditionally meant filing cabinets measured in linear feet, not gigabytes. Every one of those pages carries a real cost: the trees and water used to produce the paper, the energy used to print and transport it, and the physical space and eventual disposal or shredding required to manage it over years of retention.

By building EVOLVE as a genuinely paperless system rather than a digitised version of a paper process, we remove that cost structure from our clients' operations entirely, rather than merely making it slightly more efficient. A health system moving its credentialing, committee governance, and document management onto EVOLVE is not just adopting new software; it is retiring a meaningful, recurring paper footprint permanently.

4. Infrastructure and Operational Choices

  • Cloud infrastructure with a renewable-energy commitment. We favour cloud hosting providers with credible, published renewable-energy commitments for the infrastructure EVOLVE and its component modules run on.
  • Digital-first offices. Our Dublin and Dubai offices default to digital documentation and communication in day-to-day operations, minimising internal printed material and physical document handling wherever our own processes allow.
  • Remote and flexible work. Supporting remote and flexible work arrangements where a role allows it reduces unnecessary commuting and office energy use, alongside the wellbeing benefits it brings our own team.
  • Vendor and travel review. We review our vendor relationships and travel patterns periodically with an eye towards reducing unnecessary environmental impact, without compromising the quality of client delivery.

5. What This Means for the Organisations We Serve

Every healthcare organisation running EVOLVE inherits this paperless philosophy as part of the platform itself, not as an optional add-on they have to configure. A credentialing department that has run entirely on paper files for decades, a committee that has always circulated printed packets before a meeting, or a policy library kept in binders on a shelf, moving onto EVOLVE means that workflow becomes digital by default, with no printed fallback built into the product to fall back on.

We recognise that this is a genuine change management step for organisations used to a paper trail they can physically hold. Our implementation approach is built around making the digital record more trustworthy and more accessible than the paper one it replaces, complete audit trails, instant search instead of filing-cabinet lookups, and access from anywhere authorised rather than a single physical location, so that the absence of a print option is experienced as an upgrade, not a limitation.

6. Governance and Review

This policy is reviewed annually by ie4 leadership alongside our CSR Policy, and updated as our infrastructure, client base, and the broader evidence on sustainable technology practice evolves.
